Amurrcuh

One of my good friends from middle school is finally a U.S. citizen!! Congrats, Klammy! :)
She's a great field hockey player/coach and she loves Harry Potter, so I combined the two. Here's to you, Klarisse!

On another note, tomorrow is August already! School will be back soon, omg! :0

Beach Days

A few sketches from a visit to the dog beach awhile back. Practicing some coloring...Doggies errywhere! So cute! And Anthony's nasty feet.. hehe.

My favorite from that day was this sort of English Bulldog or somethin'. He was the fattiest fat of all the fatties. He'd grunt with each step and waddled his way thru the sand.

Sculpt, sculpt, sculpt!!

Here are projects from the Sculpting Lifeforms class this past Spring. I wanted to wait until they were painted first, but with all the construction going on at the house, everything is misplaced and all is a bit chaotic. I've only sanded them down (and that's why their textures are all funky), but still can't wait to paint 'em!

First Lighting Experience

This semester in my Special Studies class, I wanted to try something new and decided to texture and light an environment in Maya. Enjoy!

I downloaded this environment from a site with bunches of  already-made environments for people to practice texturing and lighting. I forgot what the site was though.....

Also, thanks to Kitty's friend Markov for his guidance in lighting and Brandon for showing me the layered texturing on the snow. Hopefully going to explore more lighting stuff this summer!

Mmm... Heads & Hands...

Soooo, I've been super busy finishing up projects and such and disappointedly have not had the time to finish drawing my dogs :'( But that's going to change within the next few weeks after finals (they also desperately need a bath, ha). Today marked one class down and three more to go...!

Today's final was for Heads and Hands. Here a few selections from zee portfolio.

Second Portrait, brother

(The hands are supposed to be a narrative. My brother said the hands look like the ones from Super Smash Bros. Also looks like a movie poster to me. )

On a different note, last night I suddenly had an epiphany for a mini-project I've been planning for awhile; yet, the plan of execution never felt right...until now.  I love that feeling and I'm super excited to start on it! So many plans for this summmmmer :D

GOOD LUCK WITH FINALS and PROJECTS, GUISE. Almost there :)

Welcome back, me!

FINALLY! A new post after how many months?!

Anyways, since winter break, I've been busy working on my own 3D animated short for 353B and helping out on a friend's short, Telly. Please check that out! My name is missing, but I did work on it. Spare time has been rare this semester and if found, the time was spent being a human and just lounging around resting my poor eyes (my prescription worsened last semester, but it's inevitable considering the time spent in front of a computer screen).

This past week, a guest speaker came into class and is giving us a two-week demo on how to use Mudbox. He gave us a Skeksis head and we had to texture it. I'm not sure if I'm going to finish it, but for my first Mudbox experience, I really enjoyed it!

After working on the Skeksis, I was curious to watch The Dark Crystal and see what this Skeksis was all about (it was interesting watching a 1982 Jim Henson puppet movie, lol). As I was watching the movie, I was working on lil guy. I haven't worked on anything just for the heck of it in.... I don't know how long. But definitely way too long. This is Max! He is one of my three dogs and he's the hoodiest hoodlum of them all. A real rebel. He's the newest addition to the family and he's 8 years old. Not quite house trained yet...it's a slow and agonizing process. Anthony likes to call him Maxipad.

The other two hoodlums will make their appearance in the upcoming weeks! :)
